01Where it goes wrong
Signs your tenant needs an owner
Microsoft 365 is easy to switch on and easy to let drift. These are the problems we find most often the first time we look at a tenant.
- 01
You pay for licences nobody checks
More licences than staff, Business Premium on accounts that only read email and former staff still licensed months after they left.
FixA licence review when we start and a check every month after, with leavers removed on the day you tell us.
- 02
Sign in protection has gaps
MFA is on for most people but not everyone. Old sign in methods still work and nobody hears about it when an account signs in from overseas.
FixMFA on every account, conditional access and 24/7 identity threat detection for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID through SecureShield.
- 03
Files are shared with anyone
Links that work for anyone who has them, guests from projects that finished years ago and a new SharePoint site every time someone creates a Team.
FixSharing rules set once, guest access reviewed regularly and a site structure people can follow.
- 04
There is no backup beyond the recycle bin
Exchange Online keeps deleted email for 14 days by default and 30 days at most. A mistake found in month two may be gone for good.
FixMicrosoft 365 backup with Veeam from $5 per user per month, covering email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
02What we look after
What managed Microsoft 365 includes
The everyday admin and security work that keeps a tenant useful, handled by our service desk and engineers under one agreement.
Users, access and admin
New starters, leavers, password resets and access changes through our service desk. We manage your tenant through Microsoft GDAP and CIPP, so admin access is controlled and logged.
Service desk / GDAP / CIPPSecurity baselines
Microsoft 365 CIS baselines, conditional access and Secure Score improvements, applied in a planned order so nobody is locked out.

- Mail forwarding, inbox rules and third party apps with access to your data
- External sharing and guest access in Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your domains
- Audit logging, alert policies and device compliance
- Backup of mailboxes and files, and licences you pay for but do not use
A report you can act on
A plain English report ranking every finding by risk, with your Microsoft Secure Score and what it would be after the fixes. We walk you through it, then give you a fixed quote for the fixes if you want us to do them.

04Choosing a plan
Which Microsoft 365 plan each person needs
Most businesses we meet have the wrong mix. We match each person to the plan they use. Each business plan is limited to 300 users.

How we take over your tenant
Most of the work happens in the background. Staff hear from us before anything changes the way they sign in.
- Step 1
Review
We check security settings, licences, sharing and backup, then give you a plain English fix list and a fixed quote.
- Step 2
Handover
We take admin access through Microsoft GDAP, collect details from your current provider and document how the tenant is set up.
- Step 3
Fix the risks first
MFA gaps, open sharing and missing backup come first. Changes that touch sign in are planned with you and explained to staff.
- Every month
Keep it tidy
Licences checked against your staff list, security settings reviewed and new Microsoft changes explained before they reach your users.

01Is Office 365 the same as Microsoft 365?
For small business, mostly yes. Microsoft moved its small business Office 365 plans to the Microsoft 365 name, so people searching for Office 365 support usually mean the same thing. The business plans are now Business Basic, Business Standard and Business Premium. Some enterprise plans still carry the Office 365 name.
02How much does managed Microsoft 365 cost?
Microsoft 365 management is included in our managed IT plans from $45 per person per month ex GST, with licences billed separately for the plan each person needs. Microsoft 365 backup is from $5 per user per month. A technical consultant scopes it with you and sends a fixed quote.
03Does Microsoft back up our email and files?
Microsoft keeps the service running, but under its shared responsibility model your data stays your responsibility. Deleted email can be recovered for 14 days by default and 30 days at most. A separate backup covers mistakes, departures and attacks that are found after that window closes.
04How long does it take to switch, and will staff notice?
Most staff notice very little. We take over admin access in the background, and anything that changes how people sign in, such as MFA, is planned with you and explained to staff first. Moving to Microsoft 365 from another platform is a separate migration project with its own plan.
05Are we locked into a contract?
Not with us. Microsoft licences have their own terms and billing options, which we explain before you commit to any of them.
06We already have an IT person. How does this work with them?
Many of our clients have one. Your IT person keeps ownership of the business side and uses us for the service desk, security settings and the Microsoft admin work that eats their time. We agree who does what at the start, and they see the same reports you do.
